    Top 10 | Winter Layering

    Top 10 | Winter Layering

It's January and you know what that means, it's cold outside here in Indiana!  Therefore, it's that time of year for layering your outfits.  I don't know about you but I LOVE to layer.  Today I have on a layered look: a tunic, a bright print sweater, and a solid scarf.
From fleece-lined leggings to cardigans I want to share my top ten staples for Winter layering.
#1 Plaid Blanket & Infinity Scarves-they make any solid sweater or tunic stand out, plus they keep you extra warm for freezing days.  We have many styles & colors to choose from.
My favorite is: Raw Edge Infinity Scarf
#2 Lace Trim Tanks- a great style to layer with longer tops or tunics with leggings.
You can make a tie on one side to show off the look.
My favorite color: Lace Trim Tank in Off White
#3 Open Cardigan-the easiest wardrobe piece to layer with.
My favorite style is :Caramella Cardigan (softest ever) available in four colors and is a bit longer in length so it pairs well with tunics & dresses.
#4 Padded Vest-our best selling staple for winter by far!  Keep cozy by layering with basic long sleeve tops & print sleeve tops.
My favorite style: Plaid Quilted Vest
#5  Colored Denim-there is nothing like a pop of color to make your look more exciting.  Layer with solid colored tops & short boots.  I absolutely love these ankle zipper plum pants by Jag Jeans because they are comfy & stylish for winter. Ryan Skinny
#6 Hats & Gloves-cable knit styles are warm & cozy paired with jackets and coats.
My favorite style: C.C. Hat with Pom
*Navy Hat sold out but other colors available
*Gloves not sold on website but are available in store including the color navy (they have smart tips too)
#7 Leg Warmers-a must have layering style to go with boots & leggings, plus they actually keep your legs warms.
My favorite style: Lace & Button Cuff (these details are really cute)
#8 Fleece-lined leggings-if you have to be outside these are perfect for running errands as they are fully fleeced-lined.  We love that this style is high waisted (very flattering for every shape) and stretchy.
#9 Sweaters-always a staple for every Winter wardrobe.  I love this bright v-neck mustard style.  Its available in store only in XL.  We have many curvy fit styles on our website and in store to choose from.  I think this one is my favorite as it's a nice pop of color and makes you feel good on a gloomy day.
#10 Winter Coat-this year you actually need a winter coat!  What I love about this style is that it is a fashion coat, it looks great layered with pretty dresses and tops.  I would recommend this for work or date night.  It is also on sale so you can't beat the price!

    Transition into Fall

    Transition into Fall

What a gorgeous day here in Indiana!  Today officially marks 7 years since I opened my store.  We are having our Anniversary Sale in store thru today.  On the website you can earn double points thru tomorrow.  What better way to celebrate?!

The reason I started my store was to help empower women thru clothing!  I love styling outfits, I think it's the reason I love what I do!  It's hard to build that connection online vs in store, but I hope these blog posts help inspire you and give you ideas on "how to" dress.

We had fall-like weather yesterday, it actually made me excited for the upcoming season.  If you are like me I am starting to transition my wardrobe already by buying new cardigans, jackets, & lightweight fall color tops.  I love all of our pretty Summer dresses still so I was thinking about which one was my favorite and how to pair it with a jacket.

    Isle Of Mod Dress

This dress is very flattering on. Sara wears a 4/6 and the small fit great.  It is fully lined and has the cutest tie string back detail.  It a-lines so it doesn't cling at all.  Floral & anything leaf print seem to be on the ongoing trend this year.  It can easily take you into Fall with it being shades of green & black. It's easy to dress up and down too!

    Photo Bomber Jacket

This light weight olive jacket can be worn year round.  I love that you can wear it open or zipped closed and it looks great paired with a dress like this one or even a casual tee & jeans. It is more fitted at the waist so I would go up a size in it.

    Eclipse Chaser Necklace

This stone pendant necklace is one of my favorites as the length is great with tops & dresses and the color pops on most dark colored styles.  It is a brown/orange color, which is perfect going into Fall.

    Fame or Fortune Bracelet

This bracelet is brand new to our website.  Faux leather, beads, and studs seem to be the trend in jewelry for Fall.  I love this style as it has a simple magnetic closure (not a hassle to put on by yourself!)

These four styles pair well together and can easily transition you into Fall.  The earthy green colors, gold hardware, and just adding the jacket gives it a Fall-like look.  I hope this gets you in the mood for Fall.  Like I said I am seeing a lot of cute jackets, cardigans, & fun jewelry that can pair well with all your pretty Summer dresses.

    Style Your Feet

Happy Thursday!  The weekend is almost here....yes!  I was thinking of outfit ideas this morning for the store to feature and post on Instagram.  I wanted to focus on trendy ruffle dresses or tops with fun sandals.  So blog time it is!  We are having a SALE on shoes this week in store & on the website too.

Outfit #1: Boho Floral Look- This pretty dress is a new arrival to the website.  Off the shoulder and fun for a concert or night out with your girl friends.  I paired it with a bright blue clutch to match the dress color & fringe sandals to go with this bohemian look.

Moring Glory Dress  $45 Sizes S/M/L

Little Vivian Bag in Royal $39

Midas Moccasin Sandals $16 (with Sale) Sizes 5/5.5/6/8.5

Outfit #2: Classic Floral Look- This v-neck tie-front ruffle sleeve dress is perfect for a date night or wedding.  I paired it with pearl earrings and classic black strap flats.  I would layer a white long tank dress or slip under the dress as its see-thru.

Blooming Beauty Dress $48 Sizes S/M

    Pearl Cluster Earrings  $12

Audrey Flats $25.60 (with Sale) Sizes 6/6.5/7

Outfit #3: Pop of Color Look- This everyday off the shoulder stripe ruffle sleeve top looks great paired with distressed white jeggings and a bright pair of wedge sandals. You always want to keep the look simple when adding a pop of color.

    Razz & Roll Blouse $35 Sizes M/L

Distressed to Impress Jegging $40 Sizes S/M

Spice of Life Wedge $32 (with Sale) Sizes 8/8/5/9

    Styled Looks | Mother's Day

    Styled Looks | Mother's Day

Happy Wednesday! Mother's Day is coming up fast.  Have you thought about what you are going to wear this weekend?  This week I put together two outfit ideas to get you ready.  All the styles shown can be found on our website.
As a mom I find myself either wanting to dress up with an actual dress or a nice pant outfit.  So that's exactly what I did with these looks!  I kept these looks pretty simple with color & pattern as I know it can be hard to think about putting together an entire outfit some mornings (especially with kids).
    Outfit 1: Navy Dress
I absolutely love this dress! It is trendy yet classic.  The detail of the cut out halter at the top of the dress and the bow tie in the back make it unique!  It is made out of silk /polyester and is fully lined.  It doesn't have a lot of stretch, but is flattering on most body types as it's an a-line style dress (narrower at the waist than wider at the hips). I styled it with a denim shirt because I like the idea of keeping this look simple.  The denim top is really soft (chambray material) and I buttoned it up 3/4 sleeve length.  If it's chilly outside you have something to layer with.  I kept the accessories in the neutral tones, but still trendy.  This long pendant necklace is one of my favorites on our website, I seriously pair it with everything!  A clover shape style with lines and has a faux leather tassel at the end.  The gold & brown compliment the navy dress.  I wanted to style this look with a fun handbag so I picked this soft pink chain & laser cut out clutch (it has a black/white stripe print on the inside).  To finish the look, I went with these comfortable beige fringe booties.

    Shop this look:
The model is wearing Size Small in the Dress & Denim Shirt.  She is a size 4/6, 5'6" Height. If you want to be able to button and layer with the Shirt, I would size up.
    Outfit 2: Pink Kimono
Kimono's have been a huge trend this Spring, they've been selling out in the store!  I love this particular style because it's super light weight, colorful, and flattering.  When it starts to heat up (soon please) if you are going to layer with anything, this is the way to go.  Pink is a fun color to go with neutrals (like black).  This kimono is going to look great on most body shapes.  It is flowy and open (which I love).  I styled it with a fun print tank and necklace.  The tank is a polyester/knit.  It doesn't have a lot of stretch so I would size up. It has a key hole detail on the back too.  The necklace is a trendy wood/bead tassel in pink/grey.  It definitely pops off the pattern tank and matches the kimono nice. I finished the look with comfortable ponte black pants (I realize you can't really see them but you get the idea).  These black cut out style booties are really comfortable & on trend for Spring.
The model is wearing Size Small in Kimono, Medium in Tank & Pants.
    She is a size 4/6, Height 5'6''
Thank you for reading this blog post! I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
